I wonder how many cakes the members of West Kent will make over the summer and how many cups of tea we shall pour.  Will the sun shine or will we be huddling under umbrellas?  One thing I do know we will enjoy each others company; how many of us have made really good friends over the washing up!

I have been lucky enough to attend a couple of meetings with members at the age extremes of our WIs.  One a Birthday Lunch to Celebrate 91 years and the other a group of WIs the oldest being three years and the youngest three months.  They all had one thing in common, Friendship.  Whether they had known each other a few weeks or for years there was chatter and laughter.

I hope you are all coming to the band of the Corps of Royal engineers on Saturday 11 September at Mote Hall Maidstone, what a rousing evening it will be.
